“SOUTHWESTERN LEATHER & GEMSTONE COLLECTION”

This new collection was created inspired on the work of a great jewellery designer, REBECA OLSON WILCOX.  She showcases her work at the WILCOX GALLERIES in Jackson Hole, WY and is one of the finest artists I know.

Goldstone, Green Peru Aquamarine with pewter findings and off- white leather wrap around the neck. Take it to the sunlight and you will see those gemstones glitter!

Goldstone, Green Peru Aquamarine with pewter findings and off- white leather wrap around the neck. Take it to the sunlight and you will see those gemstones glitter!

This is a beautiful necklace, handmade ceramic beads,  blackstone, yellow quartz.

Giant Cherry Botswana Agate. Pewter findings, leather cord.

Pink Quartz Focal set in sterling silver frame. Rose quartz beads in different shades and swarovskis.  Pewter findings and leather cord.

Drusy focal, array of different gemstones like jasper, quartz, citrine and pandora beads. Silk chain, No clasp since it is quite long.

Amazing homage to the southwest. A fantastic and colorful assortment of stones in earthy shades. Pewter clasp. The earrings match the necklace.

WOW, this is gorgeous. Giant Botswana Agate as focal and african agate in assorted colours. This piece is so colorful! Pewter findings and off-white necklace.

This gorgeous piece was inspired on a piece of jewellery owned by the Zarina Alexandra Romanoff. Gun metal chain, silver hoops and silk bow. The accent piece is not a FABERGE IMPERIAL EGG but a Marcasite piece,   the side stones are not RUBIES, but Botswana Agates,  and the bow is made of silk and not diamonds, but this piece sure has the flair of the Romanov Imperial years.

Delightful assortment of raw quartz stones in different colours. Pewter findings and off-white leather strap. Silk bow.

“Trésors des Chaussures”

If you are a shoe lover, you will fall in love with these amazing necklaces.

And what can you tell me about these three to come???

Swarowsky Crystal.

Orange Cat’s eye & red Garnet.

Amethyst.

Isn’t this boot adorable?

Tiger’s eye.

Onyx and swarowsky crystals.

The shoes are about 4 inches long and are made of pewter. They have an enamel coat and the design work and sculpting  is absolutely stunning. They are not light pieces, hence the reason why they are set individually and only enhanced lightly with gemstones that may accent the shoe.

The necklaces are meant to hang loose at 15 to 18 inch double length chains.  They are a conversation piece. I have been complimented over and over again when wearing them.

PRESENCIA LATINA for Maria Weimer

“Presencia Latina” commissioned Eclipsegemstones to design an exclusive set of jewellery for Maria Weimer, nominated for the LATINO DEL Año 2010. I met Maria decades ago and remember her as a vibrant person. I chose  Zebra Jasper for this set.

Fossilized wood and Turquoise Medley

I am really excited about this necklace. It took me a long time to make because I am wearing a wrist brace and all movements are limited. I spent hours threading the smaller bits! This is a long piece, very rich, very chunky and very unique.

This is a detail of the wonderful combination of exotic stones and metals.  Fossilized wood is one of the most beautiful stones you can incorporate in your jewellery.

The most amazing it looks, the pricier it becomes. Fossilized wood is expensive but it dresses up any piece of jewellery.

“Back to Woodstock” Series

This is a new and exciting collection of jewellery inspired in the ’60′s.

Rose Quartz at its best. Pewter, sterling Silver, silver metal and lots of Quartz.

A shower of Jasper and Jade, of pewter and silver metal. Amazing design, very versatile.

Fresh From The Smouldering Oven… Earth.

I have been busy creating, playing with shapes, discovering stones and combining textures and colours.

“THE FORCES OF NATURE” COLLECTION

A gemstone is a naturally occurring material desirable for its beauty, valuable in its rarity, and sufficiently durable to give lasting pleasure. It is gestated in the core of the different earth’s crusts and it is cured to perfection with the influence of the various phenomena of rain, scorching sun, winds, passage of water, erosion, drought and others, manipulating essence of the gem that the earth will engorge.

A GEMSTONE, a fruit of the  FORCES OF NATURE

  “…AND THE VOLCANO ROARED”

Turquoise, sterling silver findings, silver wire, Bali Clasps.

Turquoise   forms by the action of percolating acidic aqueous solutions during the weathering and oxidation of pre-existing minerals. Climate factors appear to play an important role as turquoise is typically found in arid regions, filling or encrusting cavities and fractures in typically highly altered volcanic rocks, often with associated limonite and other iron oxides. In the American southwest turquoise is almost invariably associated with the weathering products.

TURQUOISE,  a product of the FORCES OF NATURE.

Sterling Silver Heart loops and Turquoise.

         GEMSTONES THROUGH HISTORY

Eclipse Gemstones is a concept that came to life bearing EVE in mind. Early paintings portray her with a vine that twirls around her neck and continues to the rest of her body to embellish her, not to cover her bareness as some may think.

Women have adorned themselves from the beginning of times. Anthropologists have come to a common conclusion that human beings, especially women, are naturally (and probably even genetically) attracted to shiny objects.

In the need to create jewellery in an environment that was constantly changing, nomadic women used materials found in the different places they used as stopover. Stones were collected from the ground to use as adornments, and later on, as coins. Gemstones became a sort of currency and later on, the sign of status and wealth.

Jewellery has evolved and the more resources one has to dig deeper and break harder rocks, the more valuable and rare gemstones that surface.

I have used the fruits of the earth to create a product meant to enhance a woman’s self esteem. However, men are unequivocally mesmerized by the effect that wearing one of my creations, has on women.

       “THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE”

Blue Agate, sterling silver, silver wire. silver metal findings and pewter clasp.

Agate Most agates occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or ancient lavas where they represent cavities originally produced by the disengagement of volatiles in the molten mass which were then filled, wholly or partially, by siliceous matter deposited in regular layers upon the walls.  AGATE,  a fruit of the FORCES OF NATURE.

          “COSMOS AND OCEANS”

Cosmos Blue Goldstone, Abalone Pearls, Natural and cultured pearls, Sterling Silver, silver metal & Swarovsky clasp with amethysts.

Pearls gestated in the entrails of the oyster shells, protected, encased, encrusted within a hard shell created by columnar calcium carbonate and a yellowish to white outer zone consisting of nacre (tabular aragonite). Displaced living cells with a well-defined task may continue to perform their function in their new location, often resulting in a cyst. Such displacement may occur via an injury. The fragile rim of the shell is exposed and is prone to damage and injury. Crabs, other predators and parasites such as worm larvae may produce traumatic attacks and cause injuries in which some external mantle tissue cells are disconnected from their layer. Embedded in the conjunctive tissue of the mantle, these cells may survive and form a small pocket in which they continue to secrete their natural product: calcium carbonate. Hence, the future pearl.

PEARLS, fruit of the FORCES OF NATURE.

SINGING THE BLUES. This necklace is very diverse. It is modern, yet elegant. Notice the cluster of pearls within the stone. Very unique.

PEARLY GATES. This necklave is absolutely stunning. Very elegant and classic, yet Avant Garde. It is a fantastic piece with pearls, pink quartz,  and amethysts. A true conversation piece, a traffic stopper!!!!

Wire Crochet Set for MARY

I have been busy all week trying to solve this problem. My dear friend Mary asked me to make some  original pieces for her since she needs  to accesorize her “little black dress” for a wedding. She wanted swarowsky crystals, onyx accents, Czech glass and silver wire.

The bracelet was so much fun to make, but creating a brooche  - an elegant, yet modern brooche was a challenge. I also created three different sets of earrings for her to choose from.

I am not a photographer, and the day today is extremely dull and muggy so these pictures downgrade the reality of the pieces. If you could see the way the crystals shine, the glow of the silver wire and the richness and elegance of the pieces!

I am quite satisfied with the finished product, I hope Mary is too.

The bracelet has double “ties”. A silver claw clasp with a short safety chain that attaches both ends to the bracelet and secures it while the soft silk ribbon makes a statement. One cuts the ribbon on the spot so you can choose how rich you want it to be.

My favourite choice of earrings is this. I think these pieces emphasize the “wire” look Mary was aiming for.
